Run. Any distance, any surface. A walk on a lunch break counts.

What the Strava club actually is

A free club on Strava, which is the app most runners already use to record a run. Joining it puts your activities in a shared feed with everyone else here, and that feed is what the club logbook on this site counts.

It is not a leaderboard. There is nothing to win, no ranking table, and no minimum you have to hit to stay in. If you record a walk on a lunch break, it counts the same as anyone else’s long run.

You can leave at any time, and nothing on this site asks for your Strava account or connects to it. The numbers on the club logbook come from the club feed, not from you.

What the hashtag is for

Tagging a post #PositiveRate is how anyone outside the club finds out this exists. That is the whole mechanism. There is no advertising budget and no growth plan beyond people seeing a run and asking about it.

It also means the miles are visible. Somebody who has never thought about what an hour in a training aircraft costs sees a 10K turn into 5.40 nautical miles, and the idea lands faster than any explanation would.

Who this is for

Anyone whose working life happens above the ground.

  • Pilots

Line, corporate, GA, military, retired. Whatever is in the logbook, and however long ago you last opened it.

  • Students

Saving for the next hour, or already flying the circuit. The cheapest training you will ever do is free.

  • Crew

Cabin crew, engineers, controllers, dispatch, ramp. The people who move the whole thing and rarely get the window.

  • Enthusiasts

You have never touched a control column and you know every type on the apron by its engines. You count.

  • Runners

You came for the running and the aeroplanes are new to you. Nautical miles are easy. Stay.

  • Givers

You are here because the miles turn into money for someone who needs a flight. That is reason enough.

Ramp, dispatch, ops, and people still saving for a first lesson are members too. The list is a description, not a door policy.

Questions

All of them, in one place.

Does it cost anything to join?

No. There is no fee, no minimum and no qualifying pace.

The only money involved goes straight from you to a charity, and never through us.

Do I have to give Kč 25€1$1 a nautical mile?

No. Kč 25€1$1 is the anchor, not the rule.

Move the rate up, move it down, or set it to whatever this month allows. Nobody sees it but you.

Who holds the money?

Nobody here. Positive Rate does not collect, hold or process a single cent.

You pick a cause and give to them directly, on their own page. We do the arithmetic and the encouragement.

I am slow. Is that a problem?

No. We rank you against your own last month, never against the fastest person here.

A walk on a lunch break counts. So does a first 5K, and it gets the same response as an Ironman.

Do I have to be a pilot?

No, and you do not have to work in aviation at all. Crew, engineers, controllers, ramp, spotters, people saving for a first lesson, and people who just like running for a reason.

If you moved, you are a member. That is the whole test.

Why nautical miles?

Because it is the unit we actually use. A nautical mile is 1,852 metres exactly, by definition.

A 10K is 5.40 NM, and unlike 10 kilometres that is a distance you can picture from the left window.

Is it only running?

Today, yes. It will not stay that way. Members are already training for Ironman.

Bike and swim are built and switched off, at rates that make an hour of effort worth about the same whatever you are doing.

Does my session import from Strava automatically?

No. You type the distance in. It takes about five seconds and there is no account to connect.

Nothing you type leaves your browser.

How do I prove any of this?

You do not. There is nothing to audit and nothing to win.

Post the session, tag it, and give what you said you would give.

Is any of this medical advice?

No. Nothing here is medical advice and nothing here is a substitute for a doctor, or for your AME if you hold a medical.

If you have a reason to be careful, talk to them before you talk to us.
